Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has recently implemented significant traffic improvements on the Dubai-Al Ain Road, marking a crucial step in the emirate’s ongoing efforts to enhance its transportation infrastructure.
These enhancements, part of the 2025 Traffic Solutions Plan, aim to do the following —
- enhance traffic flow
- reduce travel time significantly
- reduce congestion
- bolster safety for commuters
- reduce accident risks
- support urban growth
- benefit residents and visitors of the Hind and Al-Faqa communities
- improve access for farm owners and workers in the vicinity
Notable enhancements include —
- Construction of a new exit at Exit 58, featuring a U-turn tunnel before the Al-Faqa area; this new exit aims to streamline traffic flow for vehicles heading towards Al Ain City and Dubai.
- A 430-m deceleration lane has been built on the Dubai-Al Ain Road towards Al Ain, facilitating smoother access to Exit 58.
- A 600-m acceleration lane for vehicles exiting towards Al Ain has been constructed, ensuring a seamless merge into the main traffic flow.
- A newly constructed roundabout enhances the road’s functionality, improving entry and exit from the existing tunnel and facilitating U-turn movements.
These enhancements ensure efficient transportation links as the city continues to evolve as a major global business and tourism hub.
