Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has implemented three significant traffic improvements to ease vehicular movement, particularly during peak hours. These upgrades will ensure smooth traffic flow and rapid urbanization.

The first improvement involves extending merging distances between Umm Al Sheif Street and Al Manara Street in the route towards Abu Dhabi and adding a lane for vehicular movement towards Al Manara. The upgrade will boost vehicular capacity by 30%, enhancing entry and exit flows.

The second upgrade involves modifications at the service road exit in front of the Shangri-La Hotel that leads to the First Interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road, near Dubai Mall. Expanding merging distances between the entry (from the service road) and the exit (towards Al Safa Street and Dubai Mall) will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion.

The third upgrade focuses on extending the merging distance between Al Marabi Street and Al Manara Street and easing vehicular movement in Abu Dhabi’s direction.

All three improvements will lessen waiting queues, decrease congestion at merging points, and ensure a smooth traffic flow, especially during peak hours.
